From the field study research gathered, it was found that the ecological state of Golden Beach Mangrove Community was very poor in comparison to Billai. There were numerous signs of pollution; everything from gum and beer bottles to dog droppings and dumping of lawn clippings. The present housing at Golden Beach Varies, but most infrastructure is quite old, this presents the risks of asbestos. Asbestos is a naturally occurring material that was used commonly in buildings for insulation. Asbestos fibres are exceptionally strong and are resistant to heat. Asbestos is commonly found in ceiling tiles, flooring and pipes. Asbestos only becomes a danger when it is disturbed, causing the fibres to become airborne. This is commonly referred to as friable asbestos, while intact asbestos is referred to as non-friable asbestos.
