At the time of the America’s discovery, England was a troubled land. ... The English were struggling to live and survive. Unemployment and poverty caused people to steal and do other things to feed themselves. People who were among the struggling saw the discovery of America as a new beginning and a new life. ... England politicians wanted to ship people who struggled in England to America because it would lessen poverty and the merchants thought it would bring more raw materials to England. Religious people viewed the shipment as a new way to start new faith and religion. With all these views, the struggling English were shipped to America.
As time went on more and more English came to America. ... Also, as they adjusted to America, more and more English immigrated further into America. ... Two main colonies that were formed during the colonial period were the Chesapeake and New England. Chesapeake consisted of about 5 regions: Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Delaware, and Virginia. New England consisted of 4 regions: New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine. The English dominated just about all of the regions in both the Chesapeake and New England colonies. ... The Chesapeake region wanted to gain more access to raw materials and make more money in that. They were not concerned with family centered society, so they only sent men to the region at the beginning.
