Atticus demonstrated in many occasions the love he had for his children, he was a very good father and always tried to protect Jem and Scout, although his sister didn’t think that his efforts were enough. “Sister, I do the best I can with them” was Atticus’s answer (page 81). ... And Atticus treated her with respect, and even if his sister thought he should fire her, his answer was always no.
Humbleness is not something that we all have, but One Shot-Finch (page 97) was a very humble man; Jem and Scout were impressed and confused because his old dad confronted a mad dog, he raised his glasses to his forehead, then he dropped them, and killed him with the first shoot, (page 96) this accomplishment made his children notice what a great shooter his dad was.
