HOOKE’S LAW EXPERIMENT
Analysis
This experiment shows that the greater the force applied to the elastic band/ spring, then the greater the extension will be. This demonstrates Hooke’s Law which states that for elastic materials, if you stretch something with a steadily increasing force, then its extension will increase proportionally – until you reach the object’s elastic limit. ... Although, this graph gives a vague indication of Hooke’s Law, it appears to have many anomalous results. ...
Evaluation
Graph showing Hooke’s Law
The spring seemed to obey Hooke’s Law generally, but the elastic band did not. ...
My results concerning the elastic band were accurate, however the results concerning the elastic band were not – although they did give a vague indication of Hooke’s Law.
