Is It Right? Capital punishment, abortion, assisted suicide, and cloning are four major issues that society is confronted with every day. There are many advantages and disadvantages of each topic. Whether it is morally right or wrong depends on the individuals perception. An individual’s opinion is affected by their surroundings, well-being, upbringing, religion...etc. The first subject is capital punishment. Capital punishment is a popular subject in politics. Politicians are usually pro-capital punishment because many Americans are pro-capital punishment, therefore causing the politician to use capital punishment as a tool to receive more votes. The advantages of capital punishment are that dangerous criminals would have no opportunity for a repeat performance, it is cheaper to dispose of prisoners quickly than to keep them locked up for the years that they spend in prison, and those who deserve punishment would actually “BE” punished.
