Dates: February 25 through February 27 Purpose: 1.)Use the Stoichiometry process to create self-propelled torpedoes out of two beral pipettes that harness the power of the vigorous reaction between vinegar and baking soda to go far and fast. Use stoichiometry and apply it to a real life application of problem solving using the skills we learned previously in chemistry. 2.) Create a controlled experiment using all of the skills gained in chemistry previously. This includes test-runs, lab write-up, lab setup, etc. Procedure: The first step to the problem was to figure out the chemical equation of the reaction between vinegar and baking soda. Using that equation, we figured out the mole-to-mole ratios between vinegar and baking soda necessary for a complete reaction.
