In the Gospel of Mark, several situations are described in which Jesus performs miracles. The passage about Chanina ben Dosa also describes instances in which ben Dosa was seen to perform miracles. There are a few noticeable similarities between the miracles performed by Jesus and ben Dosa. The first of ben Dosa’s miracles is the healing of Rabban Gamliel’s son’s fever. This appears to be very similar to several of Jesus’ miracles, but most closely to the curing of Simon’s mother-in-law (Mark 1:30) who lay sick with a fever also. Other similar miracles described in the Gospal of Mark are the cleansing of the leper (Mark 1:40), the healing of the paralytic (Mark 2:1), the healing of the man with the withered hand (Mark 3:1).
