“Steve is up by ten strokes going to the final round, he has really given himself lots of room.” “I don’t think there is anyway he could lose this tournament and the green jacket now, Johnny,” I overheard the announcers as I was walking up to the first tee. The first hole, a par four, has left to right slope with water on the right and pot bunkers on the left. As I heard my name being announced I thought, hit my driver just right of the pot bunkers and let it trickle down to the right. I hit my drive just were I wanted it to and had nine iron into the green. I two putted and started out with a par. On the third tee box I saw a scoreboard, I realized my closest opponent was Tiger Woods, who I was playing with. He birded the first two holes. My nerves started to tense up and I realized I still had to play my best to earn my green jacket. I finished the front nine two over and twelve under for the entire tournament. However, I got lots of bad bounces throughout the first nine, so I wasn’t that worried. On the other hand Tiger was nine under for the entire tournament and was on a hot streak with five under on the front nine. He was only three strokes behind me! If we both played the same on the back nine then he would win. I needed to pick up my game, but how could I when the course was against me. On the tenth hole, with a big hill on the left, left of that was water, the fairway slopes from left to right and their were bunkers in the middle of the fairway that couldn’t be cleared with a drive.
