Through geographic determinism, the different land mass and structure of China and Japan can be identified as of Japan being a small island and China a very large mass of land and be linked to the different ways of life. Japan, being a small island, didn’t have very many natural resources and very few arable land which they could use to create crops to grow food. ... Natural disasters of Japan did not include major problems of rivers flooding, but suffered from powerful typhoons and Earthquakes. ... These factors made Japan and China consider different aspects for living and led to different destinies.
China’s society was divided up into many groups of different strata, who controlled the lower classes, whereas Japan’s society was more unified having the people possess a strong tie with the emperor. Landlords and tax collectors of China took over half the harvest of the peasants crops.
