Why I Chose This Topic
I chose this topic mostly for the love of it, I can’t get enough skateboarding and everything about it. ... Also skateboarding is almost in my genes, my brother skated before me and my uncle skated before him. ... But by and large skateboarding to me is something I have to carry on; it drives me as a great challenge, one that I’ll never get bored of because its just such a broad and complex hobby, I will probably never be perfect but why not give it a shot.
I also chose this subject out of pure curiosity of the history of skateboarding before I started, my brother never told me how, who, or when it was started. ...
What I Already Knew
Although I have been skating for a year and a half, that still makes me in skateboarding preschool compared to some of the champs and veterans still skating today since the 60s’. ...
I know that long ago skateboarding was just converted from surfing, thus it’s first name, “Sidewalk Surfboard”. ... Surfers of Santa Monica or known as the “Z-Boys of Dogtown”, would find a flood drain and just ‘surf’ that until the waves were better, later on kids would just stop surfing and stay with skateboarding. ...
