“Walden” is the writing of Henry David Thoreau a philosophical journal of his two year excursion into the wilderness lasting from 1845 to 1847. Everything took place in or around Concord, Massachusetts, with Thoreau’s dwelling being at Walden Pond. ... He used timber felled from the woods surrounding the Walden to use in construction of the houses frame. ... While at Walden it was almost as if time didn’t exist for Thoreau, quite free of such constraints he was to study plants and such, never using clock or calendar. ... While dwelling near the Walden he recieved many visitors but they clearly didn’t mean much to him as he never even recorded their names.
