Within these principles we can see that Wal-Mart uses reducing customer-borne transaction cost as a strategy. In the early days Wal-Mart were established in small rural towns as a matter of respect and service for their customers who previously had to drive to urban centers to do a larger part of their shopping. Furthermore Wal-Mart reduces their transactions-costs by the lay-out of their stores. After analyzing the purchase movements of the customers Wal-Mart put the commonly purchased products together.
When the internet phenomenal entered the market Wal-Mart saw a new source in services for customers and to reduce the customer-borne transaction cost to a very low level.
