The first thing I thought of, when I tried to make a definition of the word “game” was soccer and basketball. Immediately I realized that those are examples and they can’t make a good definition for the word “game”. ... So a game must be an activity of some sort:
Definition 1:
Game – an activity
I found out a counterexample showing that this definition is too broad to be a good definition. For example work is an activity, but it is not a game. So I had to add more things to the definition to narrow the current definition. Than I asked my self what is the first thing that I associate the word game with. ... So game is:
Definition 2:
Game – a pleasurable activity
But not all games are pleasurable, for example if a soccer player is injured and he has to finish the game because the team relies on him, this wouldn’t be the most pleasurable activity he had in his life.
