Babylonian Numeration System
Christopher Luther
Jason Hatton
September 17, 2003
When it comes to a Numeration system the Babylonians are the Pioneers of numbers. The Babylonians created their numeration system and were the first to do many things that we still use today. Even though there was problems created after the Babylonian system was created, the Babylonian thinkers smoothed all the wrinkles out over time.
The Babylonians conceived of the place value system for the first time in history. Unlike our place value system of a base ten the Babylonians had a sexagesimal base (base 60).
