"The solubility of a solute in a solvent at a particular temperature is the number of grams of the solute necessary to saturate 100gm of the solvent at that temperature." FACTORS AFFECTING SOLUBILITY There are three main factors that control solubility of a solute. Temperature (2) Nature of solute or solventlubility and Solutions We did this lab to find the solubility of the different dies with different chemicals and dyes. The safety precautions taken for this lab were as follows: Fire safety, the chemicals are flammable, clothing protection safety and eye safety, apron and goggles were worn. Finally, Chemical safety, we did not were gloves but we had to be careful around the chemicals so if touch wash hands right after. For this lab, the chemicals need were acetone, ethanol, and water. Also, we need 14 color dyes, 12 coffee filter sides, a plastic tray with two sides, four skittles, two beakers, medicine dropper and of course the aprons and goggles.
