Frequency Meltdown - The Official Site 800x600 Resolution or better recommended The History of Frequency Meltdown July, 2000: Brian Cunningham, Mike Harvey, and Matt Russell are about to leave on the first famous camping trip. Before leaving, we saw some Korn fans on the street discussing their music. Brian asked one of themm, "Korn? Aren't they that band that writes songs about eat your parents and stuff?" It amused far more than it probably should have. Well, around this time, both Mike and Matt R. had just started larning guitar so the three of us were messing around with our acoustic at the camp site. At one point we decided to write "Eat Your Parents," the song. There was one catch though: It would be easy enough that all three of us could play it. Matt R and Brian played the guitar and Mike 'sang' the words, because no one else would do it. So the song as you know it today is pretty much exactly the same as the one written that day. After discussing the idea of writing several songs of this nature, Brian brought up how he had previously played with Matt Lawrence, so we decided to ask him about writing stuff with us sometime. October 2000: Brian Cunningham, Matt Lawrence, and Mike Harvey hold our first official practice under the joke band name, The Electric Spoons in Brian's bedroom. Matt Russell was talking about the possibilty of picking up a drum set and learning that, so we told him that if he does he'll will be first pick for a drummer. It is decided that for these songs we write, Mike will sing, Matt will play keyboards, and Brian will play guitar (which would hopefully make the songs sound a little better).
