A Knight’s Tale Once upon a time, in a land unknown, there lived a young lad no more than seventeen years of age; his name was Steffen. Though the boy had been raised as a peasant all his life, it was not known to him that he was of royal blood, his noble name was Prince Steffen of Burgundy. The simple peasant whom Steffen called “father” had been chosen by the king to raise him as his own, never to tell a soul of his true identity, for if he was revealed before he reached his eighteenth birthday, a curse of death placed on him as an infant by an evil witch named Maleficent would kill him at that very moment! As a boy, Steffen had always wished to become a knight. He dreamt of rescuing and charming fair ladies, of jousting and dueling in tournaments and being crowned grand champion. Alas, he would never get the opportunity. On the eve of his birthday, Steffen was out in the stalls tending to his horses when a parade of trumpets and color filled the city streets. At the end of the procession, in a lavished carriage, rode the beautiful Princess Serina of Wimbleton, a prize Steffen could only dream of.
