Dear Di, I wrote you a long E-mail late last night and as I was doing a correction before sending it the computer crashed. I am so sorry about Joe Coulston he was obviously very special and will be greatly missed. It also seems inexplicable that he should have a further infarct so soon after an angioplasty. It must be particuarly difficult as you are so far away and relatively isolated. You course doesn't sound although it will help your spirits. what about jacking it in and finding one where they speak to you. Or if you have one to one tuition can't you demand (in the nicest possible way, of course) that you have conversation lessons. Otherwise it sounds as though you will never progress as far as 'can you feel your feet, and how is your sex life?' all of which is much more important than the pluperfect. Josh seems to be making excellent progress.
