Macbeth is one of the greatest Shakespearean tragedies written during the time of the Renaissance. The play’s genre is justified by its distinctively tragic hero, Macbeth, a man of noble birth who falls from a position of honor and respect due to a flaw in his character. ... There were several factors prior to the murders that are unmistakably the cause of Macbeth’s proceedings. The murders Macbeth committed were the result of the combination of witchcraft and an evil, forceful wife.
Macbeth is not the one to blame for the death and carnage which was produced, it was caused by the wickedness in others around him. In the first scene of the play, we find a trio of witches casting a spell meant for Macbeth. ... 11-12) Shortly after that scene, Macbeth is riding home from battle with his good friend Banquo. The on the night of the murder, Macbeth sees horrifying visions of floating daggers. ... It is evident that the witches had sent those visions to shake up and further drive Macbeth to carry out their evil doings.
Although the witches had an enormous amount of influence over Macbeth, another character was much more responsible for his actions than they, his wife.
