In this assignment I will explore the ways that the Democratic, Republican, and Libertarian parties have many different yet some similar views in the 2000 platform. Education is a huge issue for the United States. The educational system is on a downward spiral and it is now crucial that we do something about it and fast. Democrats have stated that by the end of next presidential term, we should have fully qualified, well trained teachers in every classroom in every part of the United States. They want teachers to pass a rigorous test to get there. Democrats believe that every failing school should be shut down, if not turned around. No excuses, no exceptions. The democrats also believe that the Federal Government needs to be held accountable, too. In states that do not make progress in improving student performance, the Federal Government needs to redirect money from state bureaucrats and transfer it directly to schools that need it. States that succeed in raising student success, should receive bonuses. As well as the schools and teachers. The Libertarian views on the education system are somewhat similar.
