CHILDHOOD MEMORIES Today, I will tell you about my childhood experience and how it represents beauty and good in all things. In life , we sometimes perceive things to be odd, unusual, or not so pretty,, but beauty and good can be found in almost anything, whether it’s people, relationships, or even the things that we don’t choose. First I will tell about my childhood experience with a neighborhood playmate that represents the value of people. When I was about 5 yrs old, I remember a little boy named Dillion that lived down the street from me. I never knew his last name, he was just a playmate. Dillion was a white boy about the same age as myself. He was such an odd looking little boy to the point that I actually found him to be cute. He was thin and fair skinned with wild blond curly hair. As a child his deep blue eyes seemed a mystery to me because they would change colors. I would often question my mother, why my eyes couldn’t change colors. Was I different? or was he different?. The thing that I remembered most about Dillion was his personality and nakedness. My mom used to tell me that his parents were hippies and that’s the reason why he never wore a shirt, shoes or combed his hair. Dillion was much different from my other friends from the way he looked, to the way he communicated with others. Sometimes when my cousins would come over, I would tell Dillion, that he couldn’t play with us, but he could play with me later. I guess I was sort of embarrassed to show my cousins that I accepted him as my friend.
