Oedipus the Tragic Hero

In the first episode of Sophocles Oedipus The King, Oedipus is searching his kingdom, looking for the person who killed King Laius. ... Tiresias gave little hints to Oedipus telling him that he infant was the killer. Oedipus got enraged with him and felt insulted. Tiresias then told him straight out, that Oedipus was the killer. Insulted and angry, Oedipus started to curse and mock Tiresias quoting, " I vent it all on you. ... " In other words, Oedipus is turning the tables on Tiresias. Meanwhile, when they were both arguing, Oedipus asked if Tiresias if he thought he was safe. ... " He is right to declare this because he had nothing to fear knowing the truth about Oedipus. ... In Oedipus case, what he didnt know did in fact hurt him. ... In the beginning, Jocasta was actually very happy with her life, she loved Oedipus and loved the children that she had with him.
