Digital Cameras
“Digital cameras allow computer users to take pictures and store the photographed images digitally instead of on traditional film. A digital camera is very similar to a traditional 35mm camera in the way that it takes pictures”(Chambers and Norton 134). ... Even though some people think digital cameras are too high tech for their own use, digital cameras have progressed to be one of the most prolific innovations in the photographic point of view because of the individuals desired preferences and the new generation of technology that has evolved. ... “In 1951, the first video tape recorder (VTR) captured live images from television cameras by converting the information into electrical impulses and saving the information onto magnetic tape. ... Both television/video cameras and digital cameras use a CCD (Charged Coupled Device) to sense light color and intensity”(History).
During the 1960s, NASA went from using analog to digital signals with their space probes to map the surface of the moon thus sending digital images back to earth.
