September 8, 2003 Who wants to fail? I do. In today?s society, failure is frowned upon, but little do we know, failure is a good thing. Failure shoves us off of our pedestal, knocks us back to earth, and shows us who we really are. From my Christian perspective, failure can best be described as sinning against the Lord. God hates it when we sin, so why does He let failure impact our lives? He lets us fail so that we can more clearly see our need for Him. It is funny to watch the Lord?s will unfold in our lives. This is how His will unfolded in my life? August 28, 2003 With the ?Right to Fail? article, the biggest part that stood out to me was the statement saying, ?The American dream is a dream of getting ahead painted in strokes of gold wherever we look.? They bring up a great point. The point is the fact that our lives are based upon success. When we strive for excellence we view other successful people such as movie stars, politicians, and musicians. Success is not always judged upon worldly possessions. This thought runs parallel to the aspect of writing. Our success may be our own specific piece of writing. Not all writings are the same, and God made each one of us unique. An example that best displays the situation is as follows: Pretend a certain professor and I were both handed a sheet of blank paper. Our directions were to write a good piece of writing that will get us somewhere in life.
