I think a system of wealth distribution on the basis of an individual’s contribution to society duly weighted in accordance with that individual’s ability to make his/her contribution to society would be a true and fair system. This kind of a system would reward tangible results and contributions by the individual while taking into account his/her ability to make a contribution owing to the societal level that he/she occupies. Questions about distributive justice arise when different people put forth conflicting claims on society’s benefits and burdens, and all claims cannot be satisfied. This kind of controversy arises in the field of business almost everyday. Many theories have been postulated on the concept of justice – the democratic capitalist view of Rawls’, the classical liberalist view of Nozick, the socialist view of Marx and the utilitarian view of Bentham. Feinberg has proposed five principles which in exclusivity or in combinations will give fair grounds and bases for entitlements.
