This speech is about my interpretation of the themes and issues raised by Bob Dylan in his poem The Times They are a Changin’. I will go on to examine the rhyming structure of the song and to analyze the techniques of lyrical poetry.
My interpretation of the underlying theme of the lyrics is that things will always change and if we don’t change with them we will be left behind, “If your time to you is worth savin’ then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone, for the times they are a changin’ ”.
