The historical accuracy of the Bible provides a compelling reason to believe in its theological claims. According to 2 Kings 20: 20 and 2 Chronicles 32: 3-4, King Hezekiah built a tunnel (around 700 B.C.) to carry water from the Gihon Springs into the City of David. This was undertaken to protect the city’s water supply in the midst of an Assyrian invasion led by King Sennacherib. Recent radiometric analysis dates the tunnel’s age at 700 B.C.
