Video games, in normal amounts, can be both bad and beneficial to youth. ... The most common fear among parents whose children play video games are that their child may become socially detached, not developing all the skills needed in everyday interaction. Granted, some parents may feel that video games are the greatest thing ever invented to keep their children busy and “out of their hair.” I feel that video games are bad for children when played more than in moderation.
