The main focus of this paper is to explore the sport of basketball and make mathematical connections and applications to the game. I thought it would be interesting to take an activity in which I have an interest, such as basketball, and to discover the ways that math can be applied to it. Basketball is a popular sport across the world, but the math involved with basketball is not thought of often. I have researched books and the internet to find basic mathematical concepts of basketball.
