Marissa Friday 10/7/00 Of Mice and Men “With a relationship comes responsibility.” This means that at times one must fulfill certain obligations to another individual. This is demonstrated in John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men. In this novel George has a responsibility to Lennie, while Curley has a responsibility to his wife. George fulfills his promise to Aunt Clara by protecting and caring for his friend Lennie. Some of Geroge’s responsibilities are to travel with him, warms him against danger, and protects him from abuse by others. George says “Tomorra we’re gonna go to work” (8) that shows that George does care about Lennie because George gets Lennie and himself a job together.
