I chose to watch the film Kids for my movie review. I chose this because of all the hype behind it. I had heard many stories about this infamous film and decided to find out for my self. The plot of the film is that of two early teenage boys, Telly and Casper, who are running rampant across the inner city of New York. Their only goal in life is to have sex, drink, and do drugs. Telly, the main character of the movie, has had sex with many virgins and he sees that as his goal in life. Casper on the other hand isn’t as fascinated with the sexual aspect, but with that more of the drinking and doing drugs. One of Telly’s previous conquests, Jennie, goes to social services and has a blood work done to find out if she is “clean.” She is accompanied by Ruby a close friend who is also sexually active. When the results are revealed Jennie finds out that she is H.I.V. positive. Having of had sex only once, with Telly, she is certain how this came about.
