The Turning Lane
Traveling southbound on one of the busiest roads in Atlanta, a lady in a brand new mirror-black Cadillac attempted to make a left hand turn from a store front. ... As if panicked or impatient, the Cadillac darted across traffic and tried to pull into the turning lane heading northbound, the opposite way. I was always told by my father, “Never to use a turn lane to get into traffic,” and I was headed for the worst example of it! ...
As soon as the Cadillac started crossing traffic, another car, heading north, turned into the same lane. ... Never use a turning lane. ... Remember, turning lanes are never safe and you will always be at fault for failing to yield the right of way.
