What makes America different from other countries? ... After thinking about it, it is not too hard to realize that America has a great deal of the same things other countries have. ... The United States cannot even claim to be the first to ever have democracy, since Greece and the Roman people experienced democratic societies way before America did. So what really makes America different from other countries? ... America is not unique for these "revolutionary ideals" spoken of in the Declaration of Independence, far from it, we were not the first and we will not be the last to repeat what in fact is Common Sense. America is unique because we are the only people that were able to base a country on these ideals and do so successfully. The early colonist just had too many different things going for them that other countries that tried for revolution never experienced, and all these different things formed together to help gain independence for America. ... America never had one and never had to deal with the horrendous task of boosting itself into a world of modern thought. ... What makes America unique is that these principles of capitalism, natural rights, representative government, some countries are struggling so hard to achieve have become tradition for America. Although Americans take great pride in the ideals that has made nationality and culture unique, it is this very same uniqueness that is creating conflicts for U. ... The only problem is that oftentimes America does not have a clue about what is really going on. America looks at a foreign country, sees what it is missing, and tries to force the missing pieces in, when we need to help them blend in slowly what would make their society better.
