Task 3 Writing Assignment The mother-daughter relationship is one of the most unique relationships in human nature. A mother-daughter relationship is extremely important to a healthy life. In Passage One, by June Jordan, and Passage Two, by Carol Saline, the daughter looks up to their mothers, but they don't want to become spitting images of them. Both daughters discuss their admiration for their mothers, but do not want to become just like them. In the passage by June Jordan, a daughter describes how her mother has a dream of becoming an artist, but she ultimately becomes a nurse. The daughter is then afraid that she will make the same mistake and not follow her dreams. Jordan uses repetition to show the daughter’s respect for her mother, but does not want to end up like her. Repetition is the repeating of a word or sound to show emphasis.
