Once thought to be life-taking, most cases of bipolar disease are easily treatable by modern methods. The two necessary symptoms of bipolar disease are prolonged bouts of mania combined with swings of intense depression. This disease experienced a flurry of media coverage in the 1980s, which prompted development of treatments. A lot of people mistake bipolar disease for depression, even though they are completely separate things. It's important to get a solid diagnosis by a trusted doctor before trying any medication. I've personally taken many bipolar disease medications, and I can attest to their value and side effects.
