Cheops
Cheops The pyramid of Cheops was named for the Pharoah Khufu. It is made up of 2,300,000 blocks that each weighed 2.5 tons. The largest one weighed fifteen tons. The pyramid is 755 feet at each side of the base. It is 481 feet tall and its sides slant at a 51 degree angle. It extends over more than thirteen acres of land. Archaelogists compare its sloping sides to the sun’s slanting rays. That is where the kings joined the gods in the sky. The shape of the pyramid is believed by scholars to have some sort of religious meaning to the Egyptians. It is half the size of the Eiffel Tower. For the finishing touch to this pyramid, it is completely covered over in a smooth limestone.
