In a Hollywood movie it is very rare that you can find a movie which closely resembles and follows the details of history. Pearl Harbor is one of those movies which provides key accurate historic details while providing the drama and storyline needed to make it into a successful movie. There are indeed things which are fictional and exaggerated, which can be expected, in order to spice up the movie. ...
The movie starts with the two boys getting in trouble with one of the boys father. ... This opening scene sets the stage for the rest of the movie because it shows the kids want to be war pilots and defend their country. ... It than shows them with the nurses right before they will be shipped out to Pearl Harbor all except one of the main character pilots who will be separated from his girlfriend and best friend to join the British Air force REF voluntarily to help them in fighting in World War II. ... The other men were shipped to Pearl Harbor along with the nurses. One thing I didn’t find in my research was a fact to support that the nurses were boy crazy as they were depicted in the movie. The scenes at Pearl Harbor is where the history begins and can really be compared to research.
In the movie the General and Emperor of Japan had to make a decision to attack or not because they only had enough supplies for eighteen months. Thus he decided to attack Pearl Harbor. In reality this was not the only factor for deciding to attack Pearl Harbor but actually was one of the reasons.
