The language of advertising such as free, cheaper, conditions supply, savings, and guarantee will attract consumers. However, these words are deceptive and dangerous because they mislead the consumers (Australian Competition And Consumer Commission, 2001). The language of advertising is deceptive by disclaiming the prices and qualifies of products, highlighting the origin of countries, supplying comparative prices, emphasising the green products and promising cash back or warranties and refunds. ...


Firstly, the language of advertising disclaims or keeps silence with the prices or qualities of products. The advertising shows some attractive pictures with temptable language. For example, the language of advertising will be, ˇ°all the clever housewives will choose this detergentˇ± with a picture of a clean T-shirt. Moreover, some famous stars act for the advertising and represent the products as their favours. ... Therefore, the luring advertising language with attractive pictures or stars just tempts the consumers by senses instead of giving them some useful and important information.


Moreover, the language of advertising emphasises excessively the original countries of the products. ... Actually, the advertising makes false or misleading representations about the places of origin of countries. For example, Sony is a famous Japanese electric brand and the advertising always highlights the televisions are made in Japan. ...
