From the story Rappaccini's daughter the two characters Beatrice and Giovanni had both had shown selfishness and I believe that Giovanni had shown that he was by far the more selfish of the two. Because of Giovanni's actions and thoughts throughout the story he had proven himself a very selfish person. so in this essay I will try to prove my answer by explaining my reasoning and use examples from the story to help support my answer. In the story Giovanni came from a more southern region of Italy and had come to pursue his studies at the university. but during the story he eventually saw a girl who he instantly fell in love with.he watched her and gave her flowers wich he threw from his window. He eventually was shown the way into the garden were the girl was.
