One of the most exciting and growing industries in the United States is the gaming industry. I became interested in this industry after visiting casinos in Niagara Falls and at the Atlantis resort. ... Because they generate an immense amount of income through their brilliant marketing tactics and psychological strategies, I have developed a great interest in the workings of this industry. While I do not support gambling, the industry is spreading like none other. What makes the gaming industry so interesting to me are the ways that casinos have developed their business into the most profitable form of commerce in the United States.
Due to the nature of gambling—an addictive habit similar to smoking and drinking—the effects of a weak economy are far less severe on this industry when compared to others. The tremendous growth and prosperity of the gaming industry over the past few years, a period of a record-breaking recession, is a testament to this theory. ...
