So, why do so many people go on roller coasters anyways? The answer is simple! They want to be scared to death, and they’ll pay to do it. People can climb up Mount Everest. They can swim in shark-infested seas. Although, the catch it that people like to be scared and entirely/completely safe at the same time. Roller coasters can look dangerous, but they are actually very safe! Even riding a merry-go-round or tripping hurts more people each year than roller coasters do. Roller coasters thrill people, scare them, and they are able to challenge death=safely. Although, roller coasters were not always safe! Along time ago in the 1600s roller coasters were just beginning to be nothing like today’s safe and wild/thrilling roller coasters. Roller coasters actually began as a popular winter sport in Russia.
