We are taught that all human beings are children of God. In being children of God, we each deserve to be treated equally with respect and dignity. However, fair treatment for everyone has not always held true throughout history. This was exemplified during the Holocaust and in the movie “Romero.” In the movie “Romero”, Romero is in jail and hears one of the priests being tortured. He starts shouting, “We’re human beings!” He cries this out because he knows that the way the people and themselves are being treated is not right. Another example of inhumane treatment is seen in Elie Wiesel’s Night.
