Progress for a nation is a collective term, a moving forward of all its people.
Progress is achieved when a nation comes together and unites on a common goal or ideology and struggles to move in that direction. In the absence of unity even if a person or group is progressing towards some goal the other person or group may be moving in a completely different direction. Such state of affairs surely can’t lead to collective progress. This might not even lead to individual progress. ... Allan Frome said:

Our libraries and books are filled with writers supporting the dire need of unity for progress. ...

This dictum has become the story of many nations who rose due to their unity and many who had their downfall due to the lack of it.
What exactly is progress for a nation? Progress of a nation is a subjective term which depends upon the state of the nation. ... The enemy whereas had large armies, huge capital, more horses and better weapons but their unity was nothing compared to the Muslims whose strong faith had jelled them together.
