Socrates was the first individual to introduce “noble” and “lie” as a word together that would have such great meaning and impact on society as a whole. It is very important to understand what the “noble lie” is and the true meaning of it. The word “noble” means, “having or showing qualities of high moral character” (Lexico Publishing Group, “noble”) and “lie” which means “a false statement deliberately presented as being true” (Lexico Publishing Group, “lie”). Therefore, the Noble Lie is a myth told to all citizens to persuade them into behaving and believing in something that they thought was good and right for themselves. However, the hidden reality of it all was that it wasn’t the truth, it was a lie made up by other individuals of power to get them to do things “the right way”. ... ” (Urdaibay, “Religion- The Noble Lie”) Little did they know, that they were being told false information and being misled by a “noble lie” which made them feel, think, and believe that they belonged to the different sections of society.
