Ebay Case Study
Information and Decision I 514
February 21, 2003
I do not know too many people who are not aware of Ebay or on line auctions. As a matter of fact, I would bet a high majority of people who have Internet access have at least looked for items up for auction on Ebay. Ebay is a web based Internet sight that allows individuals to post items on their web sight for sale. The sight allows end users to bid against each other for items on Ebay. I will admit that I am a frequent Ebay buyer and seller. As I read the case study I was surprised to find that Ebay had experienced growing pains and as the growing pains settled in, Ebay was not aware of the problems that was looming around the corner. I will discuss why Ebay was able make the corrections needed to continue to grow and become prosperous. ... Ebay could not have evaluated the amount of risks in the future.
