Mysteries of the world

Mysteries of the World Mystery and the study of the unknown have always fascinated people. Some people believe in the supernatural and others don’t. Some people dedicate their entire lives to find the truth about mysterious creatures and other phenomenon. Some of these include, The Loch Ness Monster, the Yowie, The Abominable Snowman, Spontaneous Human Combustion, Spontaneous Human Involuntary Invisibility and the Bermuda Triangle. We will start with the Loch Ness Monster or “Nessie”. As the story goes as you all probably know, Nessie is allegedly a creature living in the depths of Loch Ness near Inverness in Scotland. There have been sightings since the 6th century in the time of St. Columba, the Irish monk who converted most of Scotland to Christianity. As the tale goes Columba apparently converted Nessie, too; for it is said that until he went out on the waters and soothed the beast, she had been a murderess, killing all who dared venture into the lake. Poor Nessie wasn’t taken seriously until 1934 when a physician allegedly photographed Nessie emerging out of the water. Good ol’ Nessie has now created a multi-million dollar tourist industry complete with submarine rides. Now wouldn’t that be fun! Now how about the Yowie. The Yowie is supposedly a big, black, hairy creature spotted Canberra's Brindabella Mountains by the aptly named Tim the Yowie Man. So where did this idea about the Yowie come from? The Aboriginals. Many Aboriginal groups from around Australia have oral traditions that date back thousands of years.
