In society people of all kinds go through changes. Certain changes can change people physically or emotionally. Emotional changes tend to affect more than physical changes, and can change the perspective they have on life completely. In the book, The Bean Trees, by Barbara Kingslover, many of the characters go through changes that will have an impact on them that will last forever.
Taylor Greer’s outlook on life changes quite drastically. ... She left Kentucky to start a new life, if she wanted a baby she would’ve never left home. ... Experiences throughout this book change Taylor’s view on life.
Lou Ann Ruiz is another character that changes in many ways throughout the story. ... Furthermore, “Within ten minutes Lou Ann and I were in the kitchen drinking diet Pepsi and splitting our gussets with laughing about homeostasis and bean turds…”(Kingslover 96) Lou Ann is starting to loosen up around Taylor.
