Objective
To examine the sector by conducting a business environment analysis. To conclude with an assessment of the opportunities and threats pertaining to the sector.
Introduction
For the purpose of this outline and also for the final report the definition used to describe ‘The Fast Food Sector’ is as follows;
Any business or organisation, whose income is earned by providing ready cooked food to be consumed immediately by the customer. This would include take away food shops and the normal fast food outlets.
Fast food is a perfect example of a sector where the driving forces for change are ‘systematic’. ... This sector is more repersentitive of the majority of businesses as against the September 11th type effect which is ‘discontinious’ and unpredictiable.
The Fast Food Sector is also subject to many social pressures to reform. ... Also there are concerns about the nutritional value of the food this sector produces. Some countries are talking about the possibility of introducing health warnings on fast food products.
