The book “Reflections of Eden: My Years With the Orangutans of Borneo” by Birute Galdikas (1995) details a study of the last arboreal great ape; the orangutans. ... We have departed from our primitive past, and our relatively recent developments of complex tool-making and language have removed us from an ancestral environment, an “eden” that was slow paced and stable.
