Essay on “Lecture to a Missionary”
The informative and treacherous tones in Red Jacket’s lecture reflects his pride in his own freedom, religion, forefathers, his way of living, and his untrustworthiness of the “White man” that questions, ridicules, and tries to change his life. Ultimately he delivers a lecture of bitter-sweet content which furthermore proves his values to be adamantly paramount over any other way of life trying to be infringed on him and the people.
